Local names for Coastal Honeybush varieties: Kustee, Vleitee, Van Staden’s tea

Terroir: Inspired by the Cape’s coastal fynbos slopes, river valleys, wetlands and forest-edge honeybush regions — from the Overberg and Garden Route to the inland Langkloof.

Tasting notes: Fruity-sweet notes of apricot and dried fruit, with hints of raisin and baked apple.

Local names for Mountain Honeybush variety: Bergtee, Heuningtee, Bossietee

Terroir: Inspired by the rugged inland mountain slopes of the Cape Fold Mountains, including the Kouga, Langeberg and Langkloof honeybush regions.

Tasting notes: Delicate notes of fynbos-floral with a hint of warm sweet spice, including cinnamon.

A refreshing green herbal tea fusion of Green Honeybush and Green Rooibos — it offers traditional green tea and matcha drinkers a naturally caffeine-free tea rooted in South Africa’s indigenous fynbos.

Food for thought: Green and traditionally crafted honeybush come from the same plant — only the process differs. Green honeybush skips fermentation and is gently dried after harvest, preserving a lighter colour, fresher botanical character and higher levels of naturally occurring antioxidants than fermented honeybush — much like green rooibos.
